When Livana is captured by two bounty-hunting drifters, Zev and Jagger, she knows that in order to get close enough to the Collector to kill him, she must allow them to deliver her to the Collector Keep. Livana wields powerful magic, but unlicensed magic has been outlawed, and using it would alert the collector core to her whereabouts. On top of that, she suffers from a debilitating heart condition, and her strength is dependent upon her ability to feed on blood and carnal pleasure. Her mission is a suicide mission; she has no misconceptions about what will happen to her if she succeeds in killing her arch-enemy. I need the next book immediately! I loved the banter, the world-building, and the passionate bond between Livana and her lovers. The twists are exquisite. It is fast-paced and perfectly spicy, and I am dying to know what happens next!
